What is tecar therapy?
Tecar therapy is an electro-medical therapy that offers valid help in the treatment of traumatological, inflammatory, osteoarticular and soft tissue pathologies of the musculoskeletal system. Today tecar therapy is used in fields other than sports medicine and pain therapy, where it was initially used: rheumatology, vascular medicine, aesthetic medicine, surgery.
Tecar therapy devices have two electrodes: one resistive and one capacitive (hence the acronym Tecar). In Resistive mode, the lower frequency current flows through the resistive parts of the body and concentrates the energy on hard tissues, such as joints, ligaments, tendons and bones. In Capacitive mode, the higher frequency current affects soft tissues such as muscles and areas with high fluid content.
